Selling a property

If you are selling a property, you want to make sure the whole transaction proceeds smoothly. That's where we come in.

Whether you are selling your first home, a block of land, an investment property, commercial premise or deceased estate, we look after the legal process associated with this important transaction, called 'conveyancing'.

Our Property and Conveyancing team's job is to prepare and review the Contract of Sale, liaise with potential buyers and make sure you receive the cash at settlement - with no last minute drama.

Having served clients in the north eastern suburbs of Melbourne for more than 50 years, we have a deep understanding of the local property market and the potential issues that you need to look out for. You'll also benefit from the strong relationships we've built over this time with everyone involved in your property transaction - from local real-estate agents, to accountants and financial services providers and local councils.

How we help

It is our Property and Conveyancing team's job to do the following on your behalf:

  • Prepare the legal documents including the Vendors Statement and Contract of Sale.
  • Represent you in dealings with the buyer – e.g. request to extend dates, ask title questions etc.
  • Settle the property – act on your behalf, advise when the property is settled and contact your bank or financial institution when final payments are being made.

If you are selling a property as part of your role as an Executor or Administrator of a deceased estate, you can also turn to us for advice on administering the estate and dealing with any challenges to the Will.

If you are selling a property because you have separated from your partner, we can also help you negotiate your financial settlement, custody arrangements and ensure you achieve a fair outcome for you and your children.

Our firm values openness, collaboration and integrity.

We make sure you understand what your options are, what you need to do, what will happen next and what our services will cost at every step of the journey.

That’s why our clients choose us for this important work. And why you should too!
