Sharon joined Tonkin Legal Group in September 2022 in our Client Services Team in a part-time capacity. In August 2024 Sharon was offered and accepted a position as a Paralegal in our Family Law and Wills & Estates Team. We are delighted to see Sharon’s enthusiasm, keen worth ethic and bright disposition cross over into her new role where she is already developing strong relationships with clients and taking on all tasks with great interest. We can’t wait to see Sharon utilising her broad skill set and excel in her new role!
Foreign Resident Capital Gains Withholding Rule Changes
If you’re a foreign resident selling property in Australia from 1 January 2025, updated capital gains withholding rules require 15% to be withheld at settlement on all property transfers (no matter what the value) unless you provide a valid ATO clearance certificate.
